Set in one of the most coveted neighbourhoods, Domain Hill in South Yarra, the Avoca Townhouse is a beautifully designed dwelling where stone serves as a unifying element. A collaboration between Pandolfini Architects, builder Henny, and Prime Edition, this project layers natural stone throughout the home, connecting indoor and outdoor spaces. The end result is a residence where transitions feel seamless, and each surface is cohesive to the overall design.

Tuscan Vein Cut Travertine

Used extensively throughout the home’s main living areas, bathrooms, stairs, and sauna, Tuscan Vein Cut Travertine brings warmth and a grounded foundation. Used in a filled and honed finish, the stone’s smooth surface and signature linear veining add a refined element with subtle movement to the expansive floor planes.

Flowing between rooms, it creates a continuity across some of the home’s most frequently used spaces. Its neutral palette complements contemporary and classic interiors while still allowing furnishings and other elements to take the stage.

While showcased internally in the Avoca Townhouse, its versatility allows it to be installed in exterior spaces, making it a fantastic choice for projects looking to carry natural stone seamlessly across thresholds.

At the Avoca Townhouse, the stone appears exclusively indoors, used in a series of elevated focal points from bathroom vanities to the living room television unit, fireplace, butler's pantry, and more. The marble’s distinct veining ranges from delicate whispers to bolder, more pronounced veins that offer a striking contrast to the white backdrop.

Bianco Carrara Marble is a perfect choice when layering stone elements; instead of dominating, it provides each space with contrast, depth, and elegance that enhance rather than overwhelm.

Milano Vein Cut Travertine

Featured on the bathroom vanity, bar area, and exquisite fireplace surround, Milano Vein Cut Travertine adds a unique design element to the home’s interior spaces. The vein cut-orientation highlights the stone's natural patterns, creating movement and rhythm across larger surfaces. While its soft variations in tone complement the broader material palette, offering warmth and visual texture.

Anchoring the alfresco and pool areas, Maddison Limestone creates a bright canvas for the outdoor space. Its tumbled finish offers a gentleness and organic variation that sit comfortably within the area, creating a space that feels relaxed yet appealing.

Used underfoot, the stone provides practicality with slip resistance and low heat absorption, while its timeless appearance complements the design established indoors.
